Portraits on Canvas
It sits differently on a wall.
At Geisti, portrait prints on canvas come in two forms: matte canvas and stretched canvas. A matte canvas is mounted on a backing board and arrives ready to frame, giving you control over the frame and how the piece sits in the room. A stretched canvas is gallery-wrapped: the image wraps around the sides of the stretcher bars so the piece hangs without a frame at all, finished at the edges.
Both formats begin with a photo you send. Choose a style (oil-painting style with visible brushwork, a graphite or pencil-sketch rendering, a continuous line drawing, or a photographic portrait) and see a free preview of your portrait on canvas in about a minute. If the preview is right, we proceed. If it needs refining, that comes first.
Portraits on canvas are finished and shipped ready to hang. Because the canvas substrate absorbs ink differently from coated paper, colors sit a touch warmer and the image reads with more depth, qualities that suit portraits and figurative work particularly well.
