Playful Portraits

Some portraits are not meant to be serious. A playful portrait of a pet — or a child, or a person who doesn't take themselves too seriously — can carry as much presence as a formal rendering, and land differently on a wall or as a gift. The playful portrait style at Geisti is illustrative and character-led: the rendering exaggerates just enough to catch what makes the subject recognizable without making the result feel like a cartoon. It works particularly well for pets — a dog with an expression, a cat with an attitude — and for portraits that are meant to bring lightness into a space. The process begins with a photo you send. From that photo we compose a playful portrait and show you a free preview in about a minute, before anything is printed. The preview will tell you whether the rendering catches the character — whether it reads as the particular subject you sent, not just any dog or any face. If it looks right, we proceed. If it needs adjusting, that comes first. Playful portrait prints make considered gifts precisely because they are specific: you can give a playful portrait of someone's pet and know it is going to make them pause before they know what to do with it. Final pieces are printed as a framed print, a matte canvas, or a stretched canvas, finished and ready to hang. They carry well in a living room, a child's space, a kitchen — anywhere lightness is welcome.
