Done well, a one-line portrait is more demanding than it looks. The line has to catch the subject's character in the proportions it chooses and the way it moves, because every decision about where the line goes is also a decision about what matters.

What is a single line portrait?

What photo works best?
One clear photo in natural or window light, close enough to show the face or a pet's features. A phone photo from the last few years is plenty. Avoid busy shots with several subjects competing for attention; a single, well-lit close-up gives the line the most to follow.
